How to make a Lovecraftian image in MidJourney

For this image, we’re going to combine a Rene Magritte with Lovecraft. Luckily there is a Lovecraft feature in Midjourney

Let’s start with the first prompt.

Prompt: A businessman kraken, Lovecraftian

What a great first start, although the Kraken looks super angry. I guess that’s what Krakens are supposed to be. Let’s try another prompt.

Prompt: A businessman Kraken, not angry, night scene, under a bright street light, Lovecraftian

This is starting to look interesting. I wanted to do version 3. But for some reason when I did the variations the head and the Kraken were not together. So instead ill do version 2. Having the man in front of the Kraken is a little more interesting.

I think version 4 is the best so let’s upscale version 4 by pressing U4.

Wow. Im stunned. This was much better than I started out with wanting to put a Kraken on a businessman but then ended up with this. One thing that will save you time with MidJourney development is to just “go with the flow”.

The end image has a lot more to it than what I put in. It’s a businessman in front of a Kraken. Maybe he wants to deal with the Kraken, maybe he wants to negotiate? He has a briefcase. What could be in the briefcase that the Kraken would want if anything. I chose this variation because the businessman is so confident. Hubris? The Kraken itself is cool. It’s floating and has more eyes than your regular Kraken. They are also glowing. Meanwhile, the mood of the image is perfectly adjusted to the scene. Great job MidJourney!
