How to make a giant sci-fi Tiger on Mars in MidJourney

One of the easiest ways to make something creative is to take an object and put it in a place where it’s not supposed to be. Another way to be creative is to take that object and change a parameter.

In this case, we’ll be taking a tiger and putting it on Mars. We’ll also be changing the size of the tiger. This is easily accomplished on Midjourney.

Let’s start with the first prompt

Prompt: Giant sci-fi tiger on mars

It’s a great first start. Let’s make it 16:9 by adding in the –ar 16:9. In addition, let’s make this photorealistic.

Prompt: Giant sci-fi tiger on mars, photorealistic, –ar 16:9

This looks great. Again, you can sometimes see how luck will give you a better image. This image looks better if there are rocks or mountains in the background. It also looks better with other mechanical equipment. I didn’t ask MidJourney to do that, it rendered that all on its own.

Let’s try another prompt with more details. It also would probably look better if it was brighter.

Prompt: Giant sci-fi tiger on mars, mars is colonized, there are rocks, hills in the background, the tiger is in a plain, bright, photorealistic, –ar 16:9

As you can see this image looks good but we need to add more detail. We should clarify some the items that we want in the scene. I’ll also add 32k and –quality 5 so that the render does a better job.

Prompt: Giant sci-fi tiger on mars, mars is colonized, there are rocks, hills in the background, There are cities in the background, there are sci-fi vehicles in the picture, the tiger is in a plain, bright, photorealistic, 32k –ar 16:9 –quality 5

We need to add that the vehicles should be smaller than the tiger. We’ll also add in the words shader. In the manual, there are different kinds of shaders and the one that says “shaders” seems to be a good one.

Prompt: Giant sci-fi tiger on mars, mars is colonized, there are rocks, hills in the background, There are cities in the background, there are small sci-fi vehicles in the picture, the vehicles are not the tiger, the tiger is in a plain, bright, photorealistic, 32k, shaders –ar 16:9 –quality 5

This looks good. Let’s do another redo and see if there are any better results.

Let’s go with #2 and we’ll make 4 variations.

Variations.

I like the first version. Let’s render it out.

Render

The result of this looks like concept art for a dune line movie. I think it looks pretty neat. This concept is interesting and there are lots of places you could go with it. Some of the other renders also had quite a bit of merit.

A few other things we could do with this image, we could play around with the color or the time of day. If you put this scene at night it really does give a sci-fi quality to it. This render is more gritty.
