Making a Salvador Dali Painting in MidJourney

There are a ton of artists you can emulate in MidJourney. How often do you say to yourself: “I wish I could see this subject in this style”. With MidJourney you can do with a prompt. Let’s start off with a prompt and go from there.

Prompt: A ship in the water near a beach, Salvador Dali

This is a pretty good start. Version 3 is the best. Let’s add a couple more items. First, let’s add –ar 2:1, this will give it an ultra-wide aspect ratio. Let’s also make the colors vivid. This should add more colors to the image. Let’s also add –quality 5 to make it the maximum quality.

Version 3 looks the best. Let’s go ahead and push V3 to make variations. You can see that there are two forces at work here. The stable diffusion doesn’t always give accurate results and the surreal nature of Salvador Dali’s work also doesn’t give realistic results. When you combine the two, you can get mixed results. Either way, let’s see what MidJourney came up with.

Let’s upscale version 3 which is the best one again. Remember that upscaling can take a long time. So it’s best you find something else to do at that time. Even if it’s 2-3 minutes if you spend all night on MidJourney, that could add up to 30-40 minutes of downtime.

I think this looks really good. The 2:1 aspect ratio makes this looks great. It gives the subject, in this case, the boat, space. Space is really important. It’s possible to add too much to your image. Also, remember that the upscale will give you a slightly different result. I think that this version is better than version 3 in the version image. It doesn’t always go this way. If you don’t like the result, you might have to re-upscale it 2-3 times. I have had to do that a few times.
