Adding a liquid background to a subject in MidJourney

It’s actually quite easy to add a splash of color and style to any subject. Using the word liquid to the prompt, you can get some interesting images. Let’s start with a simple prompt.

Prompt: An attractive young person portrait, round sunglasses, liquid background

This is a great first start. Let’s change the prompt a bit. Also, let’s add in a 4:5 aspect ratio by adding –ar 4:5

When the prompt is not specific, the results will be also not specific. There is much room for serendipity. If I was in a rush, I would choose variation 4 right away. However, there is lots more that I want to do. Let’s be more specific with the liquid part. Let’s call it shiny colorful liquid paint.

Prompt: An attractive young person portrait, round sunglasses, shiny colorful liquid paint background –ar 4:5

These all look good. Let’s see what happens if we add the word explosion to the paint portion of the prompt. Let’s also add the word detailed.

Prompt: An attractive young person portrait, round sunglasses, shiny colorful liquid paint explosion detailed background –ar 4:5

These are all really good. I think if anybody is looking for a good profile picture update, this post is for you. I think version 4 works the best. Let’s make 4 variations.

I think version 2 looks the best. Let’s go ahead and render that out.

I think this looks fantastic. Not only is the model really good but the paint brings this to life. If you want to do this with your own image. All you have to do is upload an image to discord, then copy the link of the image. After that, just paste it in the prompt and you should be able to have your own photo be rendered with this paint.
